Is It Safe To Take Tizanidine Along Suboxone, Neurontin, And Cymbalta?
I am currently taking suboxone, Neurontin, and Cymbalta. I had a spinal fusion with rods and screws a few yrs ago and my doctor gave me some tizanidine to see if it would be any help for my back pain at all. Is this safe? I just worry about taking new medications while I am taking what I already am, I came off of methadone a yr ago after taking it for 8 yrs and am now trying to stay away from narcotics. I basically want to know if this muscle relaxer is safe with what I already take.

I really appreciate your concern, no need to worry Tizanidine is very safe drug and can be taken with no fear, this even wont interact with other medication, so just take it easy and have drug, hope this will clear your doubt have nice day.

Using TIZANIDINE together with NEURONTIN (gabapentin) and CYMBALTA (duloxetine) may increase side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications.
Using TIZANIDINE together with SUBOXONE (buprenorphine) can lead to serious side effects such as respiratory distress or even coma, depending upon the dose concentrations.
Tizanidine is a short acting muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasticity thereby temporarily relaxing the muscle tone. As with any other drug, tizanidine also produces few systemic adverse reactions.
Consult your treating doctor and discuss the issues.
