Is It Safe To Take Cephalexin At 32 Weeks Of Pregnancy ?

i have a cough right now and running nose my ob gyne prescribes me a cefalexin monohydrate 500mg. im 32 weeks pregnant .. it is safe to take that medicines?

In simply running nose it is not required
At the 8th month of pregnancy it safe but take it if is strongly needed.

Hi Maribel Mesinas,

Cefalexin monohydrate is a broad spectrum antibactirial antibiotic. It crosses both placental and fetal serum, and is not recommended during pregnancy.
