Is It Safe To Take Contraceptive Pill Post Unprotected Sex?
Hey doc, finally me and my partner have decided to loose our verginity. We are together since 5 years. Previously he used to insert his penis a bit only (did not break the layer). He never ejaculated in my vagina. But yes, the precum cannot be controlled. And we always used to clean and wash ourselves after each session. And we never used condoms. Whenever he felt that the penis was a bit more inside my vagina, i consumed emergency contraceptive pill. In 5 years, i had consumed the pill 4 times. Now we want to move a step ahead and want to lose our verginity. So can we do it without condom? And i will take i-pill. Is it ok? Because we really do not want to use condoms.. We want to loose our verginity completely naturally and don t want to use condoms. I will take the ECP after that.
Yes, ECP may be taken following an unprotected sex. If taken within 72 hours following an unprotected sex the post-coital ECP is up to 95% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy. Remember it will not protect the sexually transmitted disease.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
