Is It Safe To Take Higher Doses Of Amlodopine And Lisinopril?
hello...i don t have a primary physician, & don t presently have the funds to go to a clinic...i m on lisinopril/hydro (20/12.5) taken a.m. & amlodipine (5mg)...taken p.m....my BP never gets to normal (ranges from lower 140 s to upper 130 s over 85-88)...i ve been on lisinopril for 4-5 YEARS...i was told to try doubling my daily dose of amlodopine (from 5 to 10 mg) along with the lisin...is this safe & do-able ujntil i can get to a physician?
Hi,welcome to healthcare magic forum. Antihypertensives should be taken regularly on the same time each day.Avoid missing doses as far as possible.If your BP is not above 140/90 on regular medication,you need dose adjustment.You can change to amlodipine 10 along with the other one.Recheck BP after one week. Please note the following things when you check blood pressure. 1)Take rest(body and mind relaxed) for 10 minuites before checking. 2)Avoid electronic apparatus.It is not accurate.Use mercury type. 3)Take reading on same time of the day.
