Is It Safe To Take Navidoxine While Suffering From Severe Nausea During Pregnancy?

I am seven weeks pregnant now, and i am having severe nausea... natural things likes carbs and ginger are not working... my doctor said that navidoxine drug is no more safe during pregnancy, but i used to take it in my first pregnancy and it was okay. What do u think?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Novidoxine contains meclozine and pyridoxine.
It belongs to category B drugs in pregnancy.
Means according to animal studies no adverse effects on the fetus reported but sufficient human studies are lacking.
So you can use the tablet with your doctor's advice.
Once your nausea subsides you can stop the drug.
Other alternatives are drug containing doxinate etc.
General measures like:
-Decreasing oil and fat content in the meals
-Taking small quantities at frequent intervals
-Including fruits, vegetables, milk in meals etc can help to some extent.
