Hello,
Thank You for the query at HealthcareMagic

High doses of prednisone are given before MRI scanning to prevent any allergic reaction to the dye. Since you already have history of asthma it is a good call to take prednisone. Prednisone suppress immune system thereby preventing an allergic reaction.
Taking Prednisone for such a short duration will not cause any side effects or interactions with other medications you are taking, even at high doses.
Please be advised that you take the prednisone as prescribed before MRI scanning.

Hope I was able to help you
Please address any more questions
