Hello, Good day. What was the initial TSH result? There are several causes of hypothyroidism and auto immune thyroid ( hashimoto's ) disease is one among them. Anti TPO negative means that she probably doesn't have autoimmune thyroid disease. How ever, she could have other types of hypothyroidism. And it is extremely important to keep thyroid hormones in normal levels when kids are growing. When she has completed the growth, you may withdraw the Thyronorm for 6 weeks and then retest TSH and Free T4. Till then it is safe to continue the medicine. So it is okay to take Thyronorm if her initial TSH was elevated even if the Anti TPO was negative Regards Binu
