Is It Safe To Use I Pill Instead Of Condoms To Avoid Pregnancy?
Hi I m 29yrs old girl me & bf are planning to have intercourse without any protection so I want to know if I took I pill after that is it really works because I am scaring of it as my period date is coming 28th we are planned to do on 15th june so please advise me about taking pills when & how to take for avoiding pregnancy
If you are not planning for a baby, you should be on regular contraceptive pills or contraceptive device. However, you can use spermicide but it is not full proof and offers no protection against STI. In case of unprotected intercourse, you can take I pill within 72 hours to prevent pregnancy. It is one time use.
I pill helps to prevent pregnancy but it cannot protect you from sexually transmitted diseases. You are suggested to go for protected sex to avoid STI. Avoid multiple partners to stay on the safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
