Is It Safe To Use M Pill For Abortion?

hi myself manoj kumar khare, my wife has taken the M pill against 3 month pregnancy in the month of jan 2011, now at the present time she is pregnant again having 1.5 months pragnancy. should i give her M Pill again for the abortion. plz guide me, i am afraid about any side effect, because during last time she has a heavy bleeding problem. help me !!!!!!

Hallow Dear,

M pill contains Tab. Mifepristone and Tab. Misoprostol. These pills are quite effective for terminating the pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation. Tab. Mifepristone 200 mg is to be followed by Tab. Misoprostol 800 micrograms 24-48 hours after Mifepristone.

Please do not take these medicines of your own. They are not 'over the counter' medicines and need to be taken only by Obstetrician's prescription and advice.

If at all these medicines fail to terminate the pregnancy, pregnancy should not be continued as there is a risk of abnormal development of the baby. Hence in such event, the pregnancy should be terminated by surgical evacuation of the uterus.

It is a good practise to confirm the completion of the abortion after M kit by ultrasonography.
