Is It Safe To Use Warafrin For Buerger S Disease?
Hi May dad was on warfarin for 10 years due to dvt and bueger s disease. Recently he was in hospital due to passing blood in his urine. He is waiting for a urology appointment to find the cause of the bleed. I the mean time the warfarin has been stopped. He is off it now for 6 week. Since then his legs have started to break out in sores they are getting bigger every day and spreading rapidally. His own G.P said it is nothing to worry about and just put vaseline on them under a bangage. He is in awful pain. Do you think it could be related to the warfarin been stopped, it all started sine then.

It is common to get hematuria in a patients who are taking blood thinners like Warfarin .
It is customary practice to withheld the drug for few days and to restart it once hematuria has resolved .
In view of he getting swelling and pain in lower limb suggesting DVT you should restart his Warfarin again .
