Is It Safe Using Nurofen, Mylanta, Aspirin At Old Age? Any Side Effects?

Hi I am in my first year of bachelor of nursing and doing a pharmacology essay due in fortnight. My question: Do you think there is potential risks associated with the use of over the counter medications, specifically Nurofen, Mylanta and Aspirin in the older person. Do you think its safe for older persons to self medicate with these drugs?

Hi, mylanta can be used by old people over the counter, as there wont be any potential side effects.
Nurofen(ibuprofen)is potentially hard over the stomach, and can trigger the ulcer, or can worsen the condition , or can cause hemorrhage, may cause rise in blood pressure. Asprin is also a potentially gastric irritant.
Thank you.
