Is Itching A Side Effect Of Benlysta Prescribed For Lupus?
i have lupus and been on benlysta for almost 2years. once in awhile i have uncontrollable itching and develop hives on my body. is,that a common side effect for benlysta patients. tonight the itching is driving me crazy! i has been going on a ll afternoon
Hives and itch are not side effects of benlysta, they are allergic reactions to the dug. This means that your body's immune system is trying to fight off benlysta because it sees the drug as a threat to the body.
If i were your doctor, to prevent progression of this allergic reaction to its severe form, i would change the drug...
So, visit your doctor and review your concerns to him, he might prescribe an equally potent and safer alternative drug.
I hope i have answered your question.
Warm regards.
