Is Keto Acid Therapy Useful For Kidney Failure?

My son, now aged 42, had renal transplant 20 years ago at CMC Vellore. The graft is now showing signs of ejection. creatinine is 4.5, urea 72. i read article on keto acids. Can this be useful for such patients, and how can I convey this to my nephrologist delicately. Regards RSathyanarain
