Is Laser Surgery Possible To Heal Lower Back Disc And Cervical Injury While On Methadone For 35 Years?
Hi Doc:) I ve been on Methadone for 35 yrs (for the most part of them, anyway). I got off in the early to mid 90 s & was doing ok until I fell down an embankment & landed on cement w/ bare knee s. That s what has started my lower back disc s (both sides their are 9 that are messed up) & now cervical I ve got alot of problems there too. My ? to you is: I got off Methadone sucessfully for 2.5 yrs. est. until I was injured. Then went to a Dr who put me on those OXY things & I didn t like them; so he put me on Methadone for pain....not Maintainence this time. Then he was arrested & I had to go back to a Clinic for my pain. I m on 105mg daily & I m so scared about having surgery on this dose as sooo... many Dr.s already have a pre-conceived notion of who & what I m about. I didn t ask to become a herion addict at 14. The 24 yr old guy that gave it to me had to know. Anyway...I m on Medicare @ 55 & WA ST APPLE HEALTH. Do you know if they would be able to do laser surgery on me or rather w/ the coverage I have. That was the last ? Don t bother answering that last ? cuz I know that s not your area. Thanx for any help.

You are suffering from traumatic spine injury and on methane for pain relief which led to dependence this wat I could get from wat you wrote . Your injury details are missing including your diagnosis made by your doc n other investigation report.
If there is no gross bony/neurological injury then the treatment would be conservative treatment though psychotherapy, analgesic , warm compression etc but if it isn't so (wat i take out from your history) then you may require operative management (lazer treatment won't work).
In my opinion visit a orthopaedic clinic and get treatment after proper check up done .
