Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Left Arm Numbness, Tingle And Nauseous Symptom Of Early Heart Attack?
I am a 22 year old female with no known heart disease in my family. My left arm is numb and tingly. I just measured my resting heart rate and i am currently at 100 bpm. I am unusually tired and earlier in the day I was a little nauseous. Could this be the early signs of a heart attack?
Thank you for your question! I understand your concern; but before you worry about heart problems I would recommend you an ECG at rest; a physical examination by your GP and the routine laboratory check-up blood tests (comprising a complete blood count to exclude anemia or inflammation, fasting glucose, liver and renal function tests; also CK-MB enzyme); in your situation you are a young lady without prior personal or familial cardiac history; and excluding risk factors for coronary disease by a normal physical examination (no systemic arterial hypertension) and blood tests (no diabetes, dyslipidemia, etc) would impose you to a very low probability state of heaving a heart attack; after all if ECG and CK-MB test are normal I would recommend you to consult a neurologist because your complains at that point could suggest possible neurological problems like epilepsy or cerebro-vascular disorders, etc. I hope that my explanation could be of help and some relief for you; I wish you the best health welfare; by Dr Iliri
