Is Lexapro And Effexor Effective For Severe Anxiety?
Hi i have general anxiety for the past few months, this week I had to take off work. my gp upped my meds to 15mg lexapro which really made me very tired. My anxiety stems from tiredness I have cp and had pertinitous 4 years ago. The anxiety is worse in the morning. I am worried about how long this will last. i have now dropped to 10 mgs lexapro and am due to change to 75mg effexor on a gradual basis. next week i start 5mg lexapro and 37mg effexor. do you think this will help thanks for your time
Hello Welcome here. Lexapro is well tolerated by most of the individuals but the tolerability may vary from individual to individual.
I would have preferred prozac in your case for two reasons: 1. Your anxiety stems from tiredness. Prozac is an activating drug and would reduce anxiety gradually. 2. Effexor can cause discontinuation syndrome when stopped.
Please discuss this with your doctor. Thanks.
