Hello I am a 35 year old female that had gestational diabetes 5 years ago. Every year I get tested. I have recently started to monitor my blood sugar levels on a daily basis. This morning before eating it was good at 96. 2 hours later its at 65. That's not good is it?
Dear madam i can understand your concern in my opinion the reason for low sugar might be due to excessive insulin secretion. this condition is called as reactive hyperglycemia. this kind of condition is seen in very early stage of diabetes due to insulin resistance. Excessive abdominal fat is the main reason to develop insulin resistance. Since there is a known history of gestational diabete there is a slight chance of you getting type 2 diabetes . but to confirm this diagnosis i need to look in to your physical profile like height and weight for further discussion. regards
