Is Microgynon Effective For Treatment Of Cysts In Ovary?

Hi I am 23 and I have 2 small cycts of the size of a pea in my left ovary. The doctor recommended microgynone. I have taken any contraceptive pills before. Will it help with the cysts? I also pain a lot during my periods which last only a day. My friends (even male ones) discourage me to take any contraceptive pills as it interferes with my hormones. Im lost
