Yes i recently purchased a birth control pill minigygon @ a local pharmacy after i read the risk side effects am now wondering if i should still go ahead and take it! I need to know if it is a safe product or can u recomend a something safer that wont later one affect me?
Hi. Welcome to HCM. Minigynon is a combined oral contraceptive pill.Oral contraceptives are hormonal preparations that may contain combinations of the hormones estrogen and progestin or progestin alone. If u are taking this to postpone your pregnancy then i would suggest u couple to use Barrier method of contraception like condom. All oral contraceptive pills have some side effects like nausea, headache, breast tenderness, weight gain, irregular bleeding, and mood changes. These side effects often subside after a few months' use. Uncommonly, oral contraceptives may contribute to increased blood pressure, blood clots, heart attack, and stroke. Women who smoke, especially those over 35, and women with certain medical conditions, such as a history of blood clots or breast or endometrial cancer. If u are taking under medical supervision then no need to worry, but u r taking from a pharmacy which is not recommended. I suggest u to consult a doctor and then take these medications. All the best. Regards
