Is Minor Headache Without Vomiting After Hard Hit On Head Due To Fall Concerning?
my 9 year old son fell during a ball game and hit his head very hard. He almost seemed to have a seizure but woke up right away. We have made him lay low all day, he seems fine. Just has a minor headache. He hasn't thrown up, his eyes look normal. Ive given him Tylenol. Should we bring him in or is it ok to watch him?
Well you see the headache that he is having may eventually come out to be trivial but there always remains a risk of internal injury or hematoma ( blood clot) formation in such cases of head injuries where in the symptoms may not appear immediately but after some time gap so in order to be on a safer side it will be prudent to take your son to an emergency and get his neurological examination done thoroughly and if the need arises as per the advice of doctor then an X-ray head and CT scan OR MRI scan head shall also be carried to rule out organic pathology.
He may appear normal as of now but symptoms may begin to appear as more time elapses once the injury within begins to progress and starts affecting internal brain tissues, so please try to get him evaluated to rule out any possibility of a potential risk.
