Is Mirena A Safe Alternative With Vascular Ehlers Danlos?

My doc suggested mirena as a step before hysterectomy to treat severe endometriosis. I have pain from ovulation to menses. Then severe cramping and heavy bleeding that lasts 7 to 10 days. Basically I have one good week a month. Is mirena a safe alternative with vascular ehlers danlos? I m 39 with no children.
