Is Normal Delivery Possible If Umbilical Cord Is Around The Baby S Neck?

Dear sir, I completed my 39 weeks on 25th march. My due date as per LMP is 1st April. I have anterior placenta up to the margin of cervix on 18th march ultrasound report. Single cord around the neck was also found. Now doctor is asking me to go for c section. There is no chances for normal delivery. I want to ask whether I should wait for due date for normal delivery with labour pain or I should go for cesarean as doctor advice. My age is 34 years.

Hi, I think you have low lying placenta. If placenta is less than 2 cm from internal os, it is an indication of drawers delivery. Single cord around neck is not an indication of c section alone. If placenta is more than 2 cm away from internal os, you can wait till your due date for normal delivery. Hope it helps.
