hi
my 20 days daughter got some problem in her umbilical cord. i'm putting one drop of a medicine twice a day on her umbilical cord(as directed by doctor). Doctors told me that her umbilical cord will get removed after 15 days. but its doesn't happen. yesterday i seen some type of few drops of liquid also on her umbilical cord. what is that and what should i do?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, this could be infection or may be the redual part of umbilicus, first thing you can do is try Neomycin powder sprinkle it three times in day, if this fails to responds then baby needs clinical examination to rule out the possibility of "Rosebud" (The little fragment of cord still remains inside ) if it found there then that need to be removed under local anesthesia, take care of your baby, have nice day
