Is Numbness In Fingers Normal After Carpal Tunnel Surgery?
I had carpal tunnel surgery 3 weeks ago on both hands my right fore and ring finger are number now then before and still in pain went back to my surgeon she said she don t know why, like i was lying its hard to do anything if I accidentally hit my fingers It feels like i got shocked sometimes they feel like their hard at rocks with numbness Is this normal? Will it get better? I m gettn frustrated. Thanks.
hi You had Carpal tunnel surgery 3 weeks ago and have (R) Fore finger and Ring Finger numbness and pain. Some times in early post operative period , there is still swelling in the operated area and pressure on the nerve continues. It should start subsiding in few weeks time. I would give you pain killers ( mainly to reduce swelling ) , Gabapentin ( to reduce numbness and burning) and night splintage ( To reduce night pain). If there is no relief then I would recommend Repeat NCV after 2-3 months.
