Is Numbness In Hand Normal While On Miralax For Severe Constipation?
Please, I ve been having a severe constipation for the last couple of days... Doctor ran some exams, all stats were ok. TC said I had fecalization in the small bowel. I ve been taking Miralax, my second day today, had little bowel movement. Just a little bit came out. Drinking lots of liquids. Now I m concerned, my right hand started to become a little numb. Is it normal? Should I be concerned? Before becoming constipated I was taking supplements of omega 3 fish oil, vitamin D and B6, along magnesium. I read the vitamin B6or the fish oil might have caused my constipation. Should I go to the ER?
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your symptoms of constipation followed by developing numbness of the right hand with intake of miralax I am strongly suggesting that you have developed a thiamine deficiency (vitamin b1) and folic acid definitely which subsequently leads to peripheral neuropathy Folic acid and thiamine are absorbed in the intestine and its absorption have been disrupt by your constipation episode In view of this you can see the Emergency physician for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription inclusive of folic acid and vitamin B1 Meanwhile yes vitamins and omega 3fish oil are implicated to cause constipation so please reduce their intake I hope this helps Regards
