Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Numbness With Tingling Sensation In The Thigh Associated With Spinal Stenosis?
Good morning, My right thigh is numb from the hip to the knee. It began with a pain in my lower right back then tingling in the thigh becoming numb. I can walk no problem, but sitting or laying down is painful. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, but had it under control by exercising.
I am truly sorry for your pain and will try my best to help you in this regard. Lower back pain associated with numbness and tingling in the thigh could be a symptom of spinal canal stenosis. As you have mentioned that you have already been diagnosed, I reckon that you must have undergone all the necessary investigations including MRI Spine. It would be helpful if you could give me the details of the reports of the investigations that were done prior to your diagnosis. If your pain does not improve with physiotherapy and exercise, taking NSAID class of drugs can be helpful.
I would suggest you to consult a doctor before taking this drug (so as to screen if you have any condition that will preclude the use of NSAIDs).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bright Jebaraj S
