Is Oxycodone HCl Time-released Medication?
I was prescribed oxycodone hcl 5 mg after my surgery today. I recall being prescribed Oxycontin in the past and it was time released and made me violently ill for 24 hrs, it had a generic of oxycodone. I cannot take these if they are time released. are the ones i have been prescribed a time released?

The timed release preparations have it clearly mentioned beside the name on the label that the preparation is timed release/ controlled release/ extended release/ sustained release etc. Usually these preparations come in strengths higher than 5 mg, which is actually the lowest dose of oxycodone. So most probably your 5 mg oxycodone tablets are not timed-release ones, but you should confirm by checking the label where the name is written.
