Is Oxytol 150 Safe While Having Sciatica,dizzy Spells And Headache?
I have been prescribed oxytol 150 half a tablet bid for one week and thereafter i tab bid for pain inlegs and back due to Sciatica . I am very suseptable to dizzy spells and frequent headaches. Is it safe for me to start on the drug?Please advise. Bano

Oxetal (oxcarbazepine) is a sedative and pain (nerve related) alleviating drug, used in certain nerve diseases, muscle spasms and seizures.
As you are experiencing, it can produce side effects like drowsiness, ataxia, giddiness, nausea and reduced concentration. These are generally reversible after the drug is stopped.
If you feel too much of drowsiness, you need to ask for a change of prescription and till then avoid activities like driving.
