Is Pain And Swelling In The Feet Caused Due To Lymphedema?

My wife suddenly has moderate pain in her foot on the inside of the arch toward the toe. There was no injury. This occurred before, and went away after a few days. This time, that area of the foot appears red and swollen, and the ankle is also swollen. She has lymphedema as a result of cancer surgery, which we control with daily massage therapy and support hose.

Hi,

It is because of the lymph-edema due to cancer surgery. You can use compression stocking and massages for feet also but do consult your oncologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
