Is Pain Killer Advisable To Take After Hip And Pelvic Replacement?
Hi my mom just had a week ago and full hip and pelvic replacement and all is well, got out of hospital2nd day after surgery done by Dr. Corey Richards, from Gatineau..she is doing all exercises ask and taking Zarelto for blood thinner and Dilaudid for pain killer 1mg. Her back hurt her a lot, so sleep is very limited waking up 4 times to walk and change position. She does put a pillow between knee when on side of good hip. Use recliner if she can t stay in bed. Can she take any pain killer for back like vimovo or ???
Hello and thank you for your question. Dilaudid is a very strong pain medication. The problem with vimovo is that it has naproxen which can increase the risk of bleeding. This should not be taken in a patient that is already on blood thinners. Regards
