Is Painful Swelling In The Legs Related To Bladder Infection?

Cervical fusion 3&4 10 years ago, lumbar laminectomy 2,3,4 6 years ago due to degenerative disc disease/arthritis. I m on pain meds and go for epidurals every 3 month. I fell a month ago backwards hit the back of my head sideways on the kitchen counter doors, back on the floor. Went to E.R. CAT scan showed nothing bad. 7 days after that I got a bladder infection, 7 days of Cipro 500mg twice a day. 2 days later, doctors office urine still positive. Now, Leviquin 500 once a day for 10 days. My legs are swelling, painful hard to walk, can t hardly walk. Could this bladder trouble have anything to do with my bladder?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As a physician, I think your painful leg swelling is not because of bladder infection. As doctor prescribed, tablet Levaquin after culture report, so continue this tablet.

The causes causing leg swelling are injury, sprain, obesity, and chronic conditions related to heart, liver, kidney and many more. Do leg elevation with daily walking for 30 minutes, physiotherapy as advised and keep yourself well hydrated.

I will suggest you to review here with detailed history or consult with the physician for detailed examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
