Is Persistent Blister On The Gum A Cause For Concern?
I have a blister on my upper gum for past 3 months. The swelling is painless but irritating at times. Its size remains the same. I have seen a dentist 3 months ago as I thought it could be an abcess. The dentist gave me 2 courses of antibiotics which didnt help at all. I dont have any other symptoms. Should i be worried? Which area of medicine should i seek out for a diagnosos and treatment?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a lump.over the gums that is sore at times can be due to causes like Chronic Dental Abscess, Periapical cyst, while can also be due to chronic gum abscess etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller while Incision and Drainage can also be advised for faster and complete resolution.. In case of cyst Enucleation or Marsupialization can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
