Is Pexiva A Good Antidepressant In A Person With Anxiety Disorder?
I am a 63 year old male who has been off and on antidepresannts for many years. I have chronic problem with sleep. The only thing that works for sleep is anti anxiety medication. But I wont take it each night because I dont want it to lose efficacy over time. Usually I wake up and come out into the other room at night to watch television, unless I take the antianxiety med. Then I usually stay in bed for the night. Traditional sleep medicines dont work for me. I feel drugged and they dont keep me asleep. Do you have any thoughts of an antidepressant that might be a good fit for me. Is Pexiva a reasonable choice
Well paxeva is no doubt good anti depressant for use in anxiety disorder as well as depression but on a flip side it may lead to insomnia so it is not a good fit for you since you have been struggling with insomnia so taking it may exacerbate the problem.
So i reckon the drug that shall help your depression , anxiety disorder and also help you to sleep better will be either mirtazapine at dose of 15-45 mg / day to be taken as a single dose at night time or clomipramine at dose of of 25-50 mg at night as a single dose, both of these anti depressants are good for sleep induction and need to be taken regularly and not on a PRN basis that is as and when required basis the way you have been taking other drugs for anxiety.
So you may choose any one of these drugs instead of paxeva and this shall suit you just fine, so you shall discuss these options with your doctor and seek his decision on using any one of them for you.
I hope this helps.
Wish you all the best.
Regards
