Is Pimples A Side Effect Of Atenol 50 Intake?

Hi, I have hypertension. I was on atenol 50 mg and amlodipine 5 mg. About 2 months ago, my doc changed the medication to nebicard 2.5 mg and cilacar 10 mg. Of late, I am getting pimples over my forehead, cheeks and neck. Is this a side effect of cilacar?

Hi,

Atenolol is unlikely to be the cause of pimples. Cilacar is a calcium channel blocker commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure.

Its common side effects include increased heart beats, flushing, palpitations, constipation and swelling of the feet and ankles. It is not known to cause pimples.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
