Is Polygraph Test 3 Months After Inserting Pacemaker Safe?
if you just had a pacemaker put in about 3 mouths ago can a polygraph test do any harm to it because they put something over it and to your heart will race faster and if it is safe you should wait at least 6 mouths because I am still having pain around my pacemaker and my left arm and in my chest so is it safe
There is a feature on some pacemakers that is called rate response. If yours' has the rate response turned on and it is one of those that increases the heart rate when it thinks the body is being stressed for some reason that can cause a tress reaction of heart rate. If the rate response is off then your heart will be controlled in a normal way. In conducting polygraph test, it is important to do the test with rate response on and off and match the output results. Also it is important for the person conducting the test to be aware of the fact that you are having a pace maker and get any help should you have an emergency.
The pain in left arm and around pacemaker should be evaluated by a doctor for a possible infection in the implantation area. It is not due to the functioning of the pacemaker itself.
