Is Pregnancy Possible After Missing A Dosage Of Contraceptive Pill?

I have been taking the pill consistently every day for about a year. However I ran out of pills and cannot get them refilled until Friday. I ended my last pack on period week and was supposed to start a new pack Sunday which I have not done. Meaning I m 4 days late on taking them. I also have had unprotected sex today which is within those 4 days. How likely are my chances of getting pregnant? Should I get plan B??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
First 4 days of the period is completely safe and sex during this time dose not cause pregnancy.
During this time, ovum is not released so no fertilization will occur.
No need to take plan B pill.
Avoid stress, take birth control pill regularly, drink plenty of water, eat healthy diet and do regular exercise.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
