Is Pregnancy Possible Due To Bleeding Despite Taking Seasonique Birth Control?
I have been using seasonique as birth control. I have been on this medication for 9 months. I always take it when I should and always take the week off that the perscription says to. After this past three months it came time for me to stop taking them for a week. In this week I did not get much of a period. It lasted 2 days tops and wasn't much of anything. I waited the full week then began taking the pills again. I was not sexually active throughout this last three months. I began taking the pills again. It is my fourth night taking the birth control again and I had sex last night. I did not have any spotting or bleeding. But when I woke up the next day I was bleeding. Could I be pregnant?
At the outset, let me assure you that bleeding is not a characteristic symptom of pregnancy; in fact, any bleeding during pregnancy is a bad sigh and indicates risk to the pregnancy (baby).
You are taking Seasonique so regularly that the possibility of pregnancy is very meagre. Seasonique is a birth control pill that contains a combination of ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel. Some times the pills may reduce the amount of menstrual bleeding due to Levonorgestrel in it.
Since you have got bleeding now, may be rather late, it is likely to be due to delayed menses.
However, please report to your Gynaecologist before continuing the pills.
I hope this helps you.
