Is Pregnancy Possible While On Progyluton And Metformin Tablet?
Hi Doctor, As I had irregular periods .. Recently found pcos apearance in right ovary.blood work done for Hormones fsh lh prolactin no problem. I have hypothyroidism so I m on medication. Now Doctor prescribed progluyton and metformin ... Y it s given?? Can I get pregnant while having tis medicine??
Progyluton is a combined synthetic hormone similar to estrogen and pogresteron but in lower dose. It can treat abnormal uterine bleeding but do not interfere in getting pregnant as it is not a contraceptive. Metformin is prescribed to treat PCOS. So far not reported to negatively interfering in getting pregnant. At the end, none of them will negatively impact on the chance in getting pregnant. However keep in close contact with your caring doctor for further more specific advice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
