Is Pregnancy Possible While On Contraceptive Pills?

I have been taking a contraceptive pill since 5 years (22 years old now). The blister is made of 24 pills plus 4 days break. I forgot to take the first pill of the blister and 9 days later I had unprotected intercourse. I haven’t forgotten any other pill apart from the first one. The leaflet says that there is a risk of getting pregnant if the break between the last pill of the previous blister and the first pill of the new blister is longer than 4 days. Do you think I should consider getting an emergency day after pill? Thank you very much in advance

Hello,

Well, no method is 100% accurate, but generally, the possiblity of pregnancy is very low, almost negligible if it was taken as instructed. There are instances where pregnancy have occurred with contraceptives. If intercourse was not during ovulation, then there are no chances of pregnancy. Anyways go for urine pregnancy test kit in your home with a morning urine sample for confirmation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
