Is Pregnancy Safe During A High ESR Level?

Hi Am 29 years old. Last year i had an abortion and after this i am suffering from frequent leg pain. I am on ayurvedic medicines now. Recently i had a blood test and my TSH is 6.81 and ESR is 64mm/hr. My doc prescribed me Eltroxin 25 mcg. Now i am planing a pregnancy. Is there anything wrong with getting pregnant when my ESR level is this high. what should i do to bring my ESR to a normal level? will Eltroxin do any harm to my baby if i get pregnant??

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. ESR level of 64 mm/hr is high and requires evaluation. Frequent leg pain maybe the cause of high ESR. Need investigations to identify cause. Repeat ESR after correction of thyroid hormone once to evaluate for other causes.
2. Pregnancy is not contraindicated and you can go ahead.
3. No eltroxin wont harm the baby. Its a regular thyroid hormone. If you discontinue eltroxin, it could harm the baby. Make sure your thyroid hormone profile is normal, before your have a baby.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
