Is Pressure And Achy Feeling In Lung Due To Fluid Build Up Typical With Pneumonia?
I have "walking pneumonia" and have been on antibiotics for 4 days and tomorrow is my last day on the medication. I do smoke but obviously need to stop. I have pressure and an achy feeling in my left lung and was told that was were the fluid build up is. Is this typical with pneumonia?
Hello hope the answer satisfies you.As you are telling that you have received treatment for uncomplicated pneumonia and since pneumonia is an infection of lung parenchyma which resolves with antibiotic treatment but symptoms as pleural effusion(fluid in outside cavity of lung) with pain during breathing(pleurisy) may persist for 2-3 weeks. You donot worry it will resolve as you are on treatment but obviously must try to quit smoking as besides simple chest infections and risk of cancer is increased in those people.
