Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that receiving shot just 5 hours before the bite will not immunize the dog. There is a little chance of you get rabies, because puppy is unvaccinated before five day. To develop immune effect vaccine shot approximately requires 15 days. Proper wound care immediately after bite is necessary to reduce the chance of getting rabies, if you have taken proper wound care than need to take vaccine is reduced. But mind well there is a little chance still remains if you do not take the vaccine. In other case if you take vaccine, you are safe from the rabies. So in my advice you should start with the vaccine shots. If you have anything else to ask please contact me. Thanx. Dr. Arun Tank
