Is Rabivax Injection Enough For 3.5 Yr Old After Being Bitten By A Vaccinated 6 Month Old Pet Dog?
my 3 & 1/2 year old son got bitten by my pet dog on the cheek while playing yesterday . The dog is 6 months and vaccinated .
I have started the treatment yesterday and he has got one shot of Rabivax and 4 more are pending . plus some antibiotic for the wound . This rabivax enough or is there a requirement of more vaccination pl ? asking coz one doc suggested two injections while the other said Rabivax is enough . We have gone with the 2nd one
Hi, Welcome to HCM, Your dog is vaccinated, and it is your pet dog, which is under your observation. I do not think your baby needs any vaccine. As for tetavax vaccine also, i am sure you must have given all vaccines to your child, and also booster injection at the age of 18 months. There is no need for that vaccine also. Just wash his wound thoroughly and can use antibiotic ointments. Be assured. Your child does not need any vaccine. Dr H Hamdani
