Is Severe Indigestion And Acidity Associated With Pancreatitis?

A few years ago I had pancreatitis and they could not determine a cause. I spent several days in the hospital. Yesterday evening I experienced severe indigestion and took an antacid. This morning my upper abdomen is tender. I am very anxious that it could be the pancreatitis returning. I don't have a fever. How long should I wait before see a doctor?

Hi,
I appreciate your concern. Pancreatitis usually presents with symptoms like sudden onset abdominal pain in upper abdomen which radiates through the abdomen to the back alongwith nausea and vomiting. Pain usually intensifies in severity untill reaching a constant ache.In case your pain intensifies and is persist ,then kindly seek medical attention.Meanwhile you can try taking oral antacid with antispasmodics. Take liquid or semisolid diet. Avoid oily or spicy food.
Hope It Helps
