Is Sleeping In A Clavicle Strap Ssafe?

Is it okay for my husband to sleep in a clavicle strap? He has a separated AC from a fall last week & doctor has recommended he wear one, but not sure about at night. Husband took nasty fall from bed of pick up truck onto concrete - still has good bit of pain. Email is YYYY@YYYY
