Is Smoking Hookah Harmful During Pregnancy?

I have been trying to get pregnant and it's not working. Can it be from smoking hookah? It's been 2 months since I've tried to conceive. I haven't gotten my period so I'm hoping I'm finally pregnant. I'm afraid to take a test because I don't want it to come out negative again. Do you have any suggestions?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query yes smoking Hookah harmful during pregnancy and it could effect fetus in many ways and it could affect since first trimester till last trimester. It could result in low birth weight babies, miscarriage, abortion. It can cause growth problem in fetus as well. It will lower down immunity of your body as well as that of incoming fetus and susceptibility to certain infection diseases like asthma increases. I would suggest you to stop it immediately. If it is giving you much addiction taper the dose and eventually stop. If after baby birth you will start having it again it will reach by milk and will stay in baby system and will start giving adverse effects. It can impair growth and development mentally as well as physically. You should take diet rich in multivitamins and drink plenty of fluids.
