Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I’m 19 years old and I have a bad sinus infection and taking cefdinir to kill the bacteria. I didn’t know if smoking weed would slow the processes down of getting killing the bacteria and making me feel back to normal. Can I smoke while I’m on this anabiotic or should I just take a break
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Well, it is nice to know that you have been taking the medication prescribed for you for sinusitis. You are suggested to continue Cefdinir, for it works well. You can also take antihistamines. Drink plenty of water, rest, flush out & clear the mucus from time to time. Taking weed may give you temporary relieve but it will worsen your symptoms later, stay away from addiction. Addiction will result in sleeplessness, enhanced irritability & anxiety, drug craving, poor coordination and distorted perceptions. Eat healthy food, fruits, veggies. Take probiotics and do regular exercises.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
