Is Soreness In The Vagina Normal Post Catheter Insertion?
Hi I just had my 3rd ET today and have a retriverted uterus! The doctor seem to have trouble placing the catheter then gave me some numbing cream! Now I have xrampin and feel sore which they said is normal from all the poking around! Just worried about my chances of success this time and if all the poking causes trauma! Thanks

Is Soreness In The Vagina Normal Post Catheter Insertion?
Hi, Vaginal dryness is common and usually result of lack of estrogens but some other less common causes may be present. The most common treatment for vaginal dryness due to low estrogen levels is topical estrogen therapy. In order to keep the vagina more lubricated, try using a vaginal moisturizer (Replens). You use a disposable applicator such as Vagifem to insert a tablet into your vagina once a day for the first two weeks of treatment. Avoid using douches, bubble baths, scented soaps, and lotions around the sensitive vaginal area. These products can worsen dryness. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
