Is Stinging Feeling Post A Spider Bite A Cause For Concern?
I just felt a stinging on my ankle, left foot, and saw Avery small spider ...then knocked it off and stepped on it to smash it. I looked at it and can t tell if it is a brown recluse or a black widow. It still stings! How do know if I am in danger?
Generally, most spider bites are not dangerous. They cause temporary discomfort and are similar to a bee sting, which causes swelling, red skin and pain in the area of the bite. In case that you have other symptoms such as breathing difficulties or unable to move the foot you should go at the emergency room for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
