Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Stringy Clotted Discharge From Vagina Suggestive Of Implantation Bleeding?
Yesterday and today when I saw the inside of my underwear, I noticed a few large dark brown spots. The discharge has clots and is stringy and sticky. I had unprotected sex on July 21, and my last period was July 9-13. Is it possible that this is implantation bleeding?
* As per my clinical experience, stingly clotted discharge from vagina does not indicate implantation bleeding.
* The implantation bleeding is usually spotting like with staining of undergarments rather than stingy clots.
* As the intercourse was after 8 days of last menstrual period, it was not during the absolute fertile period of ovulation and hence chances of pregnancy are very less.
* The remaining possibility is hormone level alteration with changes at uterine epithelium.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
